Anthony Pavkovich

Anthony is a documentary photographer and filmmaker based in Montana. His work looks at the legacy of resource development on our communities, food systems, and landscapes. He’s been documenting stories of the American West since moving to Montana to work on small, family-run farms and ranches.

He began his work by freelancing for local and regional outlets including High Country News, the Billings Gazette, Big Sky Journal, Outside Bozeman, Mountain Outlaw, and Montana Quarterly. Anthony holds a master’s in environmental science and natural resource journalism from the University of Montana and was a fellow at the International Wildlife Film Festival.

His focus is on the relationships that surround him and he builds stories that highlight people’s connections to the places that they live. Captivated by the desire to better understand his backyard, he once ran 240 miles out his front door and across much of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.
