Peter Schlachte

Peter has spent his professional career working at the intersection of social justice and environmental issues including food insecurity, environmental education, and preventing the harm caused to frontline communities by oil, gas, and mineral extraction.

He has extensive experience in development, outreach, marketing, and communications at environmental and equity-based nonprofit organizations. With his community-oriented mindset and broad base of skills, he hopes to continue pushing for a more just, equitable, and sustainable world.

In his personal life, Peter is passionate about connecting with the natural world and sharing that connection with others. He can often be found on trails training for his next ultramarathon, volunteering in a community garden, or writing creative fiction. Peter received his BA in Anthropology from Wake Forest University and currently resides in Washington, DC.
