Teacher who wrote place-based climate change curriculum engaging students in local climate stories.

Priority areas for mentorship

  • Connecting with thought leaders

  • Developing curricula

Zoe is a science teacher and outdoor educator. She grew up in Iowa and fell in love with the natural world during childhood summers spent in the Tetons. She pursued her master's degree in entomology at Montana State University, studying native bee diversity and distribution across Montana. Now, she teaches high school science and plans expeditionary learning at Bozeman Field School, getting her students outside as much as possible.

Zoe wrote place-based climate change curriculum engaging students in local climate stories. The curriculum launched inside her classroom, where they studied the 2022 flooding in Gardiner, Montana from scientific and human lenses. She hopes to make the curriculum sharable to other classrooms and landscapes.
