Announcing Camp 2024

For the past few months, the Footprints team has been getting clear on our values and re-imagining how our organization can make the biggest impact for trail runners and outdoor enthusiasts across the country who want to take community-centered climate action. We have lots of news to share, so let’s get to it!

We overhauled our mission and spelled out our values

As we shared in October, we failed to provide the experience that our community deserved last year. We remain incredibly grateful to our campers for their honesty, which allowed us to take responsibility and change in a big way. Moving forward, our programming will exceed expectations for all campers and model the kind of community building we want to see — both in climate action and trail running.

Our newly articulated mission, vision, and values are the product of several months of collaboration between the Board and staff, and they're informed by your feedback. To learn more about why we believe accessibility, humility, and reciprocity (among others) are critical for creating climate resilient individuals and communities at Footprints and beyond, check out our values here.

We’ve expanded our Board of Directors

Six new members have joined our Board! These leaders bring an impressive breadth of expertise and diversity of experience to Footprints. They’re pretty cool, too.

We're still updating our website, but you can learn about all of our Board members here:

We’re creating a new camp experience with Rising Hearts

Our commitment to deepening environmental awareness and nurturing compassionate and confident changemakers is stronger than ever, and we are so excited ready to continue creating experiences that do just that! We’re thrilled to share that Camp 2024 will take place Sept. 29 - Oct. 6, 2024 at the Craftsbury Outdoor Center in Vermont, and it will be co-organized by Rising Hearts' Jordan Whetstone.

Rising Hearts is a nonprofit organization focused on “elevating indigenous voices, promoting, and supporting intersectional, collaborative efforts across all forms of movements in cultivating communicating with the goals of racial, social, climate, and economic justice.”

We are humbled by Jordan’s trust in us and we’re really excited to create our most inclusive and impactful camp yet.

Applications for Camp 2024 will open in mid-May. Please stay tuned for more updates on programming, mentors, and more!
